here's a tasty little preview from the session that happened tonight. more to come, i promise! i LOVE this family. i have known them for 9 years and watched the kids grow up:) i used to babysit for them all the time, but i'd also just go hang out. oh my gosh, this family. so awesome. i really love them. by the way, i shot another awesome session tonight, a mini family session with the L family.. that post is coming up next!!!

daenon + emily, portraits

the rain ended up going away about 10 minutes after i wrote my last post. emily and daenon agreed to come along and model at the place my canceled session was supposed to be at. oh my gosh, lighting was PERFECT. can i PLEASE shoot every session right after a rain storm?! please? also, i've been tweaking my post processing, i'm finally heading in a direction with my style that feels right for me. woot woot:)

pages

it's stormy outside and cozy inside so i cuddled up to my computer (hardly a small feat) and worked on a couple of pages for this blog. you see the links on the top right of this page. i got a bit carried away with my "about me" page, don't feel obligated to read the whole thing.. i tend to carry on a bit when i'm writing freely. if you're interested though, you'll definitely get to know me better there. i also created a prices page where i updated my pricing. i've added mini family/portrait sessions, and changed some of the wedding prices around as well.

janis family

last night i took pictures of my family. it's so hard to shoot from a tripod, running to jump in, taking a minute per shot, not being able to really adjust and make it how i want it, especially with grumpies involved..;) so the actual family shots didn't turn out so well but if i can muster it, i'll fight the fight to get them back out on the beach to try again. i was happy with the portraits though, and of a bunch of pictures of my parents. i've wanted to do a shoot with them for a long time, and they gave me about 10 minutes:)

here's one shot i liked of everyone, mostly because i'm blacked out. being in front of the camera sometimes reminds me how my clients feel.. just because i love photography and shoot people for a living doesn't mean i'm totally confident in front of the lens!! nope, no way, quite the opposite. maybe this can be in our family christmas card this year;) just kidding.
