an orange and purple theme

Today I bought a fish with the intent of having an interesting object to photograph. I began to play with ideas today, but I am going to use a few different objects in future photo shoots to try and create something a little more interesting and unique. For these three pictures I set the glasses on a mirror I have, and then used my garage and kitchen for backgrounds.

Meghan's Children

Pin It Now!

Emily, Spencer, and Taylor

I took portraits of my siblings for my mom, but I only have one of Spencer because he is going to get his braces off soon and I'll be re-taking his picture in a few weeks. Emily got her hair cut a couple of weeks ago, her first short hair cut. I think it's adoreable and she loves it as well.

Conceptual

This past week I finally got around to experimenting with my favorite type of photography, which I call "conceptual" for lack of a better word. I used my cute brothers as models and created a series using the same props in several different shots that were in a few different locations. I haven't thought of a title for the series but I am excited about the shoot. I used three main props - old records (which I have been wanting to use for SO long! I finally bought a few for 75 cents each at a thrift shop), a certain white pinstripe hat, and a really cool jug with a pretty rose in it. It was a fun shoot because we went to my favorite location in Katy to take pictures - it's at some old warehouses down in old Katy by the train tracks, and it is a treasure box of photo opportunities. I really like using it as a location for senior portraits as well as conceptual work.

Kylee and Ryan

My cousin asked me to take her engagement pictures for her. I was very excited because she is very easy to photograph and had lots of ideas- ideas of locations to shoot, ideas of darling poses, and she is very comfortable in front of my camera. Her fiance's name is Ryan and they are both cute red heads which is fun. We went to downtown Ogden, Utah, and had a great time for about 2 hours hopping from one place to the next. It was fun to photograph them, but I have a feeling they had a lot more fun since they got to cuddle, smile, and kiss a lot!
